Default snmp management ON LAN ports in G450

Hi all ,

I did a test on the on a g450 with S8300 LSP server , the test was to try and establish if i could get an alarms if one lan port went down ,

The configuration is two lan ports, in standby and active mode, both Lan ports on separate switches with separate up links to the same Wan connectivity to the main S8730 controlling pair

On the test i pulled the cable on the Active lan port and it successfully switched to the standby port but i could not get any alarms in the avaya system .

the gateway and the main S8730 server is set up for snmp g3 generic MIBs

The actual software is now at Communication Manager 5.2

i am putting a case to gether to get the MIBs updated, but when updated will the gateway alarm when it loses a LAN port in avaya world .

The Switch ports are out of our particular control and would rather be notified in avaya terms .

PS the system goes to LSP mode when the second connection goes , but its too late at that stage

Thanks in advance
N
